Organising 101

Monday 4 September, 12.30pm

A look at the basics of organising and how your branch can lay the groundwork for effective action. This webinar will be led by Senior Organiser Sam Gipson.

We will look at a framework and checklist for building a strong branch that can campaign for change. Want to grow your branch and organise to make changes in your workplace or to stand against inadequate pay offers and job cuts? This is for you!

Joining conversations

Tuesday 5 September, 12.30pm

If you know you need to get new joiners into your branch but feel nervous about having that conversation with them then this is the course for you. In this interactive workshop we will go through the how and why of joining conversations, talk through a script to help you gain confidence and give you some practice in a safe space.

Introduction to Microsoft Sway

Thursday 7 September, 12.30pm

Microsoft Sway, often available as part of the Microsoft 365 suite, is an excellent tool for creating exciting and interactive newsletters. Join our organiser Rob Lauder for this introduction to Sway where you will see what you can do to keep your members informed, welcome new members and attract joiners to your branch as well as learning the basics of how Sway works.

Improving Freelancers’ Pensions

Freelance workers have some of the lowest levels of pension savings of any groups. This session will examine the particular challenges facing freelancers when it comes to saving for retirement and what the union can do to help improve outcomes.
