LGBT history month events

LGBT+ history month aims to promote tolerance and raise awareness of the prejudices faced by the LGBT+ community.

LGBT history month takes place throughout February and Prospect will be running a number of events to mark it, which will appear on this page when details are finalised. Our LGBT+ history is inspirational. We can’t allow it to be re-written or forgotten, and instead we should use it as a launch pad for future activism.

LGBT+ history tour of Hillsborough Castle

This tour covers everything from royal relationships and public scandals to political activism and evolving attitudes, right up to the winning of equal marriage rights in 2019

We are limited to 30 places on this tour which we will also share around LGBT+ networks from other unions, these places are free and there will be tea and coffee provided afterwards.

If you would like to attend and can be in Hillsborough in Northern Ireland at 6pm on February 6 2020 please arrange by emailing LGBT+ Network organiser, Rob Lauder.

Following the film, David “Dai” Donovan will be doing a Q&A about the film and his experiences with LGSM.

This event is open to everyone, members and non-members, so encourage your colleagues to come along!
